SUICIDE REPORTAGE GUIDELINES REVISION
Mig Caldwell reported on the release of the AUSTRALIAN PRESS COUNCIL'S revised guidelines for the reportage of suicide*, as the media uphold a crucial responsibility in exercising care and discretion; but when does it serve in the public interest and how this conversation can be used for good.


REPORTING FROM WITHIN DETENTION CENTRES
Nathan Coates spoke to JOEL KEEP and ALEXANDRA VAUGHAN about their experiences within the enclosed confines of Villawood Detention Centre, reporting on the suicide of a detainee.
However, journalists are unofficially banned from doing so, under the restrictions of privatised owner, Serco, that deems reporters a critical threat.

THE HOME INTERNET PROJECT: REMOTE ACCESS


Mig Caldwell also caught up on the situation facing the country's most remote communities in terms of that Government endorsed broadband guarantee, reading up on the recently published research findings from THE HOME INTERNET PROJECT

Research just published suggesting significant barriers that prevail also approximate 6% of the outstations visited had internet access at home.


ONLINE ANONYMITY
Dylan Barber debated the use of online identity: with calls by forums as ABC's The Drum to ban anonymous comments, and whether it enables free speech or open harassment.
